Purpose of the Fund

The Trust looks to provide support for non-Masonic good causes, preferably registered Charities, located within the Province of Middlesex or providing specific assistance to the inhabitants of Middlesex.

The Trust was established in 1997 by a Deed of Trust with the specific purpose of becoming the Provincial Charity vehicle, which would enable the Province to establish a significant Charitable Fund able to actively participate in Charitable giving in the Middlesex area.

The Provincial input into the Charity (apart from the Trustees) is provided by the Trustees' Advisory Committee (TAC) under the Chairmanship of W Bro Dudley Wensley

Applications

Applications from National Charities are not generally supported or encouraged but applications from local branches or units located within Middlesex will be considered.

All applications should have a Masonic connection or sponsor
(i.e. an individual Lodge or Freemason).

Please Note:
The Trust does not generally provide funding for third-party charitable collections or appeals. Funding is considered for the acquisition of or repair to assets and for the support of projects with specific aims, timescales and costs. The Trust will consider making a grant towards the overall cost of a major asset or project. The Trust does not provide funding for running or operating costs.

Rarely will an organisation receive an additional grant within a three-year period.

In addition to information relating to their aims and objectives, all applicants must provide sufficient supporting documentation to confirm their financial status and need, normally in the form of the last two years audited (or independently verified) accounts. Information regarding the organisational and management structure will be of benefit.

The TAC meets every 3 months (or as necessary), to discuss new applications which
If approved is passed to the Trustees – who meet shortly thereafter, and they make the final decision.
