Roger Croome's Presentation
of £4,000 to London Air Ambulance

Roger went with R W Bro Russell Race, Metropolitan Grand Master and two other London Masons to The Royal Hospital where we met Mr. Stephen Armstrong the City Fund Raiser for London Air Ambulance. Stephen took them up onto the roof of the Hospital where we met two of the fireman who man the site. Unfortunately the helicopter was not viewable as it had been called away. However, Stephen and the firemen showed them around, including a walk out onto the helipad, which if you are not too keen on heights could be a bit daunting, especially with the strong icy wind that was blowing and the clear view of the tiny streets and traffic immediately below.

Roger said
"The Hospital is at present undergoing many changes and the new Helipad structure could be seen many floors above us on the adjacent tower block. How the pilots manage to land on such a small surface in such winds I'll never know but for all the patients that they carry it is vital that they do.

The London Air Ambulance provides an amazing service and I felt it a great privilege to be allowed to present the cheque on behalf of Middlesex Freemasonry and The Grand Charity."
